FAQs

Free guest booking, asked often.

Is the guest booking system really free?

Yes. There's no charge to set up the booking portal. You pay only for the tents/packages your guests book. We make our money on tent hire, not on charging hosts a portal fee.

How does payment work?

Guests pay direct via Stripe. Money never touches you. We take a delivery-fee deposit upfront from the host to confirm the event; guest payments come in as they book; final balance based on actual bookings is settled with the host before the event.

What if a guest cancels?

Standard cancellation policy applies (graduated refund based on notice). Hosts can re-list a cancelled tent on the portal so other guests can claim it.

Can I see who's booked in real-time?

Yes — hosts get a live view of bookings, packages picked, beds/bedding requested, and remaining tents. You can use it to nudge guests who haven't booked yet.

What if my event isn't a wedding?

Same system. Festivals, sleepovers, milestone birthdays, corporate retreats — the portal works identically. We brand it with your event name.

Can guests pick where they sleep?

Tent assignment is currently handled by us; you can specify near-friends groupings and we accommodate where possible. We're building a layout designer that lets guests pick the actual tent on a map.

Is this better than a wedding accommodation block?

For most outdoor weddings, yes. Hotel blocks scatter guests across town and depend on individuals booking their own room before the block expires. On-site bell tents keep everyone together at the venue, the booking is in one place, and the social dynamic is closer to a festival weekend than a hotel weekend.

Can guests share tents?

Yes — a 5m bell tent sleeps up to 5 comfortably. Common configs: couples take a tent, single friends share, families book one tent per family. Guests pick their config when they book.

How is this different from Airbnb / hotel booking sites?

Airbnb / hotel sites are public marketplaces with strangers. Our portal is private to your event, only your guest list sees it, the inventory is fixed (your hired tents), and the experience is curated to your wedding/festival/event branding.

Can my parents book a tent if they don't use email?

Yes — they can phone us directly and we'll add them to the portal manually. Most guests book via the link, but the system isn't a barrier for less digital guests.

Will guests trust paying via the portal?

Yes — Stripe is the same payment processor used by most online checkouts (Apple, Google, Shopify, etc). Card payments go via Stripe, not via TGG directly.
