Use cases
Stretch tents flex to whatever the event needs. Our team can help you design the layout to maximise space and flow.
Add-ons
Dandy Dura matting. Levels uneven ground, keeps drinks upright, kinder to heels.
Perimeter festoon lights and interior festoon lights. Warm, evening-on tone.
Patio heaters and heat lamps. Keeps the gathering going past sunset, even in shoulder-season.
How it works
Setup and takedown are included in the tent price. Delivery is added on, calculated on distance and driving time from our York/Malton base.
Our crew sets up one or two days before the event so there's no last-minute stress. We won't rush to take down after, so guests don't have to leave until late morning.
Layout decisions, ground prep, and electrics — we'll talk through it all before the day. Festoon lighting needs around 1kW per tent; you'll need a generator or a venue power hookup. We can advise on safe options.
Stretch tents work alongside bell tent hire for events that need both gathering space and overnight accommodation.

FAQs
A tensioned canvas event tent, originally inspired by Bedouin shelter. Held up by lightweight aluminium poles and steel ground anchors, with no rigid frame. The fabric stretches across the poles to create a freeform sculptural shape, very different from the rectangular box of a traditional marquee. Sometimes called a stretch marquee, Bedouin tent, or freeform marquee.
A marquee is a rigid aluminium-frame box with vertical walls. A stretch tent has no frame, just tensioned canvas held up by aluminium poles and pegged at multiple anchor points. The result: stretch tents shape to your site (around trees, against buildings, on slopes) rather than forcing the site to fit the tent. They also handle wind better and look more sculptural.
Yes — that's one of the biggest practical differences from a marquee. Because there's no rigid frame, we can anchor a stretch tent against an existing wall or building, wrap it around trees, or shape it to an irregular plot. Send a photo of your venue and we'll talk through the rigging options.
Marquees: rigid frame, rectangular, indoor feel. Tipis: pole-and-canvas cones, distinctive triangular peaks, fixed footprint. Sailcloth: looks like stretch from a distance but has a heavier centre-pole structure. Stretch: tensioned freeform canvas, sculptural shape, the most flexible to site. Each has its place; we hire stretch.
From £900 inc VAT for our Small (7m × 10.5m), £1,500 for our Medium (10.5m × 15m). Setup and takedown are included; delivery is added on, calculated on distance from York/Malton. Add-ons (flooring, festoon lighting, heating) are optional. Festival pricing differs and is quoted per event.
Small: 70 standing, 50 seated. Medium: 150 standing, 120 seated. For larger events we can run two of our Medium tents alongside each other for a combined ~300 standing / 240 seated capacity.
Yes. Two of our Medium tents can be configured side-by-side or end-to-end for larger events. We discuss layout before quoting on multi-tent setups.
Yes. The tensioned canvas + ground-anchored design adapts to undulating ground better than a marquee. Add Dandy Dura matting if you want a level interior floor.
Configurable. By default the sides are partly open for flow and ventilation; we can drop sidewalls to enclose the tent for weather, evening events or privacy. Sidewalls are an add-on.
Yes. The canvas is engineered for UK weather. We design the rigging to shed rain off the right edges and avoid pooling.
Stretch tents handle wind well thanks to the low-profile, tensioned design — typically better than marquees of equivalent size. We rig conservatively in exposed venues.
We don't supply mains power; you'll need a generator or hookup at the venue. Festoon lighting needs around 1kW per tent. We can advise on safe options based on your venue.
No, we don't stock furniture in-house. We work with trusted suppliers across the UK and can recommend the right person for your venue.
Small needs roughly 9m × 13m of clear ground including anchor points. Medium needs roughly 13m × 18m. We confirm exact footprint based on the venue.
Standard hire is the weekend (set up the day before, takedown the day after). Multi-day and week-long hires are quoted per event — not unusual for festivals or longer corporate installs.
A Small stretch tent takes a small crew about 4 hours. A Medium takes a day with two crew. We arrive 1-2 days before the event to allow time for ground prep, layout and styling.
Summer Saturdays book up fast. For a wedding or festival 6–18 months out is normal. Smaller events 1–3 months is usually fine.
