How it works
Hiring a stretch tent, start to finish.
Stretch is a single-item hire so there is no guest booking portal for this brochure. You book the tent direct, single invoice, single payment schedule. If your event also wants overnight bell tent accommodation, we can pair the two and run the bell tents through the free guest booking system so each guest picks and pays for their own. Ask for the combined quote.

Agree the event
Date, venue, size and any extras. A delivery-fee deposit holds the date.

We deliver and set up
Crew arrives a day or two before and sets the tent to your site, lighting tested and ready.

We take it down after
Once the celebration is over we come back and take everything away, usually the day after, no rush on you.

Pair the stretch with our pre-pitched bell tents and your guests sleep a few steps from the party, with real beds available to add. The bell tents run on our free guest booking system, so each guest picks and pays for their own. We quote the two together.

Common questions.
What kind of private events does a stretch tent suit?
Milestone birthdays (40th, 50th, 60th), garden parties, family reunions, anniversary dinners, corporate launches, away-days, wellness retreats, post-wedding parties, summer drinks. Anything where you want a beautiful covered outdoor space for a single event, day or evening.
How is a stretch tent different from a marquee?
A marquee is a rigid aluminium-frame box with vertical walls. A stretch tent has no frame, just tensioned canvas held up by aluminium poles and pegged at multiple anchor points. It shapes to your site rather than the site fitting the tent, handles wind better, and looks more sculptural.
Can you set up in a private garden?
Yes, as long as the ground is reasonably flat or gently sloping and we can get the van within carrying distance of the pitch. We have set up in suburban gardens, country estates, working farms, and rented venues. Send a postcode and photos and we will confirm.
Can the tent attach to my house or an existing building?
Yes. No rigid frame means we can anchor a stretch tent against an existing wall, conservatory or garden building, or shape it to fit an awkward plot. Send photos and we will talk through the rigging.
How many people fit under each size?
Small (7m × 10.5m): 70 standing, 50 seated, 35 workshop. Medium (10.5m × 15m): 150 standing, 120 seated, 75 workshop. Most private events run a Medium and have room to spare.
How much space do you need, and will it fit my garden?
Allow a little more than the canvas itself for the guy lines and ground anchors. A Small (7m × 10.5m) wants roughly 9m × 13m of clear space, a Medium (10.5m × 15m) about 13m × 18m, a Large (15m × 21m) about 18m × 24m. Send a photo or rough measurements of the spot and we will tell you what fits.
Can it go on a patio, gravel or hard standing, not just grass?
Yes. On grass we peg into the ground; on hard surfaces like patios, gravel or courtyards we anchor with weighted ballast instead. Tell us the surface when you enquire so we bring the right kit.
Can we use a stretch tent in cooler months, not just summer?
Yes. Add flooring to lift you off cold ground and patio heaters or heat lamps to take the edge off, and a stretch tent works well into the shoulder seasons. For colder dates tell us early so we can talk through heating and the right setup for the forecast.
Are stretch tents weatherproof?
Yes. The canvas is engineered for UK weather and the low-profile tensioned design handles wind better than marquees of equivalent size. We rig conservatively in exposed venues and the canopy is designed to shed rain off the right edges.
Do you supply tables, chairs, lounge furniture, bar?
Tent, flooring, lighting and heating come from us. For furniture we will put you in touch with reliable hire suppliers across the UK. Same for caterers, bars and event styling.
What about toilets and showers if I am hosting in my garden?
For most garden parties your house bathroom covers it. For larger events or venues without facilities we can recommend reliable suppliers for portable loos and showers, you book them direct.
Can I also have bell tents for guests staying over?
Yes. The stretch + bell tent combination is one of our most-asked private event setups. The stretch hosts the party, the bell tents give guests a proper bed for the night. Bell tents run through our free guest booking system so each guest picks and pays for their own. Ask for the combined quote.
When do you set up and take down for a private event?
Setup is usually the day before the event so there is no last-minute stress. Takedown is the day after, late morning where possible. We can flex on either if the venue dictates. Setup and takedown are included in the tent price.
What about power for lighting, music and catering?
Festoon lighting needs around 1kW per tent. Most domestic venues can run a cable to a garden socket (we carry around 50m of cabling). For off-grid sites we can recommend silent battery units or generators. Tell us about the catering and music power requirements early.
How far in advance should I book?
Summer Saturdays book up fast. Most private events lock in 1-3 months ahead and that usually works fine. Last-minute weekday or off-season is often possible, just ask.
How do we secure our date?
We pencil you in at no cost as soon as you ask. To lock the date in, we invoice you for the delivery fee, which acts as the booking deposit.
How does payment work?
25% deposit confirms the booking. 25% at 6 weeks before the event. Final balance, based on confirmed add-ons, 14 days before. Single invoice, single payment schedule.

About us
Family-run, from Yorkshire.
The Glamping Group was launched by Max and Ruby in 2020. We started with just two bell tents and have since worked on hundreds of events, from festivals and weddings to parties and corporate days, right across the UK, building glamping villages for up to 500 guests. Still the two of us at the helm, still doing it because we love it.
